How Barter Adds to Long-Term Company Success
If you’ve been in business as long as we have, you’ve seen a lot of changes. Since The Barter Company opened its doors more than 20 years ago, the internet and social media have exploded; we use mobile devices to communicate, purchase, and inform us; and the speed of doing business has accelerated. What hasn’t changed, though, is customer loyalty. This will always remain the glue that holds a business together – no matter the industry.

The Barter Company is fortunate to have quite a few clients that we’ve worked with from the beginning. Two of those, O’Brien Productions and Regency Fine Art & Frame demonstrate how barter contributes to a company’s long-term success.

O’Brien Productions provides full-service event planning and has produced over 10,000 events throughout the Southeast since 1988 and became one of the first clients of The Barter Company in 1997. Owner Janet O’Brien explained how barter helped them grow: “Using barter helped us get the word out about our company and gain new customers. Using barter has helped us grow by providing a new way to pay for operational expenses so we don’t have to outlay cash. Their team can find us what we need and constantly sends us new barter clients.”

Regency Fine Art & Frame has been a family-owned business for more than 40 years. They offer framed collectable art and custom framed and matted art, including sports, music, and celebrity memorabilia. As one of the first 75 clients of The Barter Company, Regency Art joined in 1996 and remains a huge fan of the trade exchange. “We offer a variety of art and related services,” said Owner Lester Herbertson. “By being an active client of The Barter Company’s network, we have access to many more customers. We mostly trade for advertising which allows us to save that cash for other areas of the business. This has helped us over the years build our company and be successful. We couldn’t be happier!”
